Rental Age Requirements

Economic group vehicles: Minimum age 21 (e.g., Renault Clio, Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208)
Mid-size group vehicles: Minimum age 25 (e.g., Renault Megane, Opel Astra, Toyota Corolla, Fiat Egea)
Van group vehicles: Minimum age 25 (e.g., Peugeot Traveller, Mercedes Vito)
Upper group vehicles: Minimum age 30 (e.g., MB C Series, BMW 3 Series)
Luxury group vehicles: Minimum age 30 (e.g., MB E Series, BMW 5 Series, Volvo XC90)

Credit Card Use, Deposit, and Financial Information

Customers renting a vehicle are required to have a credit card issued in their name at the time of rental. This credit card must be enabled for online transactions. Depending on the vehicle group, a pre-authorization amount will be held from the credit card:
– Economic: 4000 TL
– Mid-size: 4500 TL
– Upper and van group: 5000 TL
– Special luxury group: 6000 TL

After the rental period ends, a written notice is sent to the relevant bank to release the pre-authorization within 10 business days. Since this is not a sales transaction, you are not required to pay this amount to the bank. No pre-authorization is taken for customers renting vehicles with the Konak Rent a Car+ product.

For a safer driving experience, to fulfill the rental contract, and to mitigate risks arising from the agreement, customers who have not rented a vehicle from our company within the last 6 months may be asked to undergo a financial analysis via findeks.com (KKB – Credit Bureau of Turkey). After the customer shares the Findeks report with Konak Rent a Car, the company will re-evaluate the report using its own assessment method and determine if the rental conditions are met. If the requirements are not met, even if a reservation has been made, the vehicle will not be delivered and any payment made will be refunded.

If the customer does not wish to share their report, they may still rent only economic group vehicles, provided they present three separate credit cards from different banks issued in their own name, each with a 15,000 TL pre-authorization. If the customer does not comply with this condition either, even if a reservation has been made, the vehicle will not be delivered and any payments will be refunded.

Driving License Duration Requirements

Economic group: Minimum of 2 years
Mid-size group: Minimum of 3 years
Upper and luxury groups: Minimum of 5 years

Since the above conditions are required during the rental process, you must present your driver’s license and credit card in person to receive the vehicle. Customers who are not Turkish citizens must also provide their passport and a document proving that their entry into Turkey was within the last 6 months. Foreign customers who have been in Turkey for more than 6 months must present a valid Turkish driver’s license.

Even if you have a digital driver’s license integrated with your Republic of Turkey ID, we are not authorized to verify it through our systems. Therefore, you must carry and present the physical original of your driver’s license. If you fail to present the original physical license, the vehicle will not be delivered.

Prepaid Reservation Conditions

The holder of the credit card used for payment (the name must be printed on the card) must be the same person who will pick up the vehicle. The credit card used for payment will be required to be presented at the office.

The cancellation and refund policy for vehicles rented from Konak Rent a Car is as follows:

  1. If there is more than 1 hour remaining before the rental time, you may cancel your reservation without providing any reason. The full reservation amount will be refunded to the credit card provided at the time of rental within 7 business days.
  2. If the reservation is canceled less than 1 hour before the rental time, 3 days’ rental fee and any extra purchased services or products will be deducted from the total, and the remaining amount will be refunded to the credit card provided at the time of rental within 7 days. If the rental period is less than 3 days, no refund will be issued.
  3. If the vehicle is not collected at the scheduled rental time and the reservation has not been canceled, the same rules as a cancellation made less than 1 hour in advance will apply. 3 days’ rental fee and any extra purchased services or products will be deducted, and the remainder will be refunded to the credit card provided during the rental within 7 days. Not applicable to Konak Rent a Car+.
  4. If the vehicle is returned earlier than the agreed rental period, no refund will be made for the remaining days. Not applicable to Konak Rent a Car+.
  5. Cancellations must be made in writing to rezervasyon@konakrentacar.com or verbally through our reservation center at +90 (530) 878 75 07. For Konak Rent a Car+, cancellations can be processed at www.konakrentacar.com.tr/konakrentacarplus.

Pay-on-Arrival Reservation Conditions

You may cancel free of charge.

In order to confirm your reservation, our staff may request full payment of the rental amount 24 hours prior to the scheduled rental. If you choose not to make the payment, your reservation may be canceled by us.

Cancellations must be made in writing to rezervasyon@konakrentacar.com or verbally through our reservation center at +90 (530) 878 75 07. Not applicable to Konak Rent a Car+.

Konak Rent a Car Pricing Terms

Services and Products Included in Konak Rent a Car Prices

All prices displayed on the website include the following services and products:

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with Deductible Coverage
– All prices include Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with a deductible. This coverage applies to damages resulting from a collision. Provided that insurance conditions are met, the damage will be compensated, with a portion of the cost borne by the customer, depending on the vehicle group.
– This insurance does not cover non-collision damages such as those occurring in parking situations or to tires, windows, and headlights.
VAT (Value Added Tax) is included.

 

 

⚠️ ATTENTION!

The Collision Damage Waiver with Deductible (CDW) will be void and any resulting damage will not be covered by insurance in the following cases:

– If the vehicle is driven by anyone not listed on the rental agreement,
– If the vehicle is used outside of normal driving conditions (e.g., driving with an overheated engine, on damaged roads, with a flat tire, or filling the tank with the wrong type of fuel),
– If the vehicle is used in violation of traffic laws (e.g., speeding, running a red light),
– If the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs,
– If cargo inside the vehicle causes an accident or damage,
– If the vehicle is driven carelessly or without caution (e.g., not adjusting speed to road conditions during rain, not maintaining safe following distance),
– If a traffic accident or theft is not immediately reported via the contact numbers provided, or if the vehicle is abandoned at the scene (unless a certified medical report proves the customer was unable to act),
– If official accident and alcohol reports are not obtained from authorities within 48 hours of the incident,
– If the vehicle is stolen and the original key cannot be returned,
– If the vehicle is not returned after the rental period without approval,
– If cargo transported in the vehicle causes damage to the vehicle or third parties,
Tires, windows, and headlights are not covered by the CDW; separate coverage must be purchased,
Damages to third parties are covered under mandatory third-party liability insurance, but any amount exceeding the coverage limit is the customer’s responsibility.

❌ Services and Products NOT Included in Konak Rent a Car Prices

– Zero Deductible Accident Protection (Top Cover)

Covers the renter’s financial responsibility in the event of an accident, depending on the vehicle group.

– Mini Damage Protection

Covers minor damages up to 9,000 TL that occur without a collision, such as in parking lots, based on customer declaration.
No report is required. If the damage exceeds 9,000 TL, an official report is required.

– Super Mini Damage Protection

Covers minor damages up to 11,000 TL that occur without a collision, such as in parking lots, based on customer declaration.
No report is required. If the damage exceeds 11,000 TL, an official report is required.

– Mega Mini Damage Protection

Covers minor damages up to 15,000 TL that occur without a collision, such as in parking lots, based on customer declaration.
No report is required. If the damage exceeds 15,000 TL, an official report is required.

– Tire, Glass, and Headlight Coverage (TGH/LCF)

Covers risks related to damage to the tires, windows, or headlights.

– Third-Party Liability Extension

Covers material damages to third parties beyond the scope of the standard liability policy, up to 20,000,000 TL per accident.
This extended protection can be purchased for 166 TL/day. Please contact the reservation center for applicable office availability.

– One-Way Fee

If the vehicle is rented or returned at a different location than originally stated, a one-way fee will apply.
(Please ask for availability.)

– Fuel

Vehicles are delivered with a full tank and should be returned the same.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, the cost of the missing fuel will be charged plus a 322 TL Refueling Service Fee.
Returning the car with the same fuel level as received is more cost-effective for the renter.

– HGS (Toll System)

For highways and bridges, toll charges plus a 130 TL service fee per rental will be charged separately.

– Additional Kilometer Package

Rentals have a 3,000 km maximum limit. If exceeded, 5 TL per additional km will be charged.

– Additional Driver

Up to 3 additional drivers can be added (excluding deposit requirements), if they meet all driving license and rental conditions.

– Baby and Child Seats

Available upon request. Please notify us during reservation so our team can assist you.

📝 Contract Change Requests

If a requested change cannot be fulfilled due to operational reasons (e.g., maintenance schedules, future bookings), the request may be declined.

Even if the change is accepted, it may affect the original pricing, and additional charges may apply.

In case of early returns, 20% of the unused rental days will be deducted as an early return fee, and the remaining amount will be refunded.

Contract change requests that may alter rental conditions:

– Change of return date/time (extension or early return),
– Change of return station,
Vehicle group change,
– Adding an additional driver to the contract,
Late return beyond the agreed rental time.

Rental periods are calculated on a 24-hour basis. For each additional hour, 30% of the daily rental rate may be charged.

Unapproved late returns may invalidate insurance coverage (both CDW and Top Cover) and also result in late return fees.

🚨 Traffic Fine Service Fee

The renter is responsible for all traffic fines during the rental period.
Even if Konak Rent a Car pays the fine, the full amount plus a 215 TL service fee per fine will be charged to the renter.

🔧 Damage Service Fee

If the vehicle sustains damage, regardless of coverage purchased, a 429 TL service fee per damage will be charged.
If the damage exceeds the coverage limit, the renter will be responsible for the difference as well as the service fee.

Reservation Terms

Reservations made through our website are valid under the following conditions:

All data entries made through our website are conducted in a secure environment. After completing your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email sent to the email address you provided, confirming that the reservation has been received as specified. Please keep this email, as it will not be accessible again through the website.

In case of any inconsistencies in reservation details such as price, vehicle group, or rental dates, the official records of Konak Rent a Car will prevail. Konak Rent a Car shall not be held liable for any typographical errors or missing/incomplete information.

If you request any modifications to your reservation (e.g., changing the return date, return station, vehicle group, or adding an additional driver), your request may not be fulfilled, and even if it is, additional charges may apply or no discount may be offered on the original rental price.

For rentals made from certain airports, boarding passes may be requested. For detailed information, please contact our call center at +90 (530) 878 75 07.

All prices shown on our website include the Collision Damage Waiver with Deductible (CDW), VAT, and the designated mileage allowance. For additional services, please review the “Pricing Terms” section.

If there is any change in the number of rental days during the reservation or rental phase, the standard list price stated in the rental contract will apply.

A rental contract will be signed at the time of vehicle pickup. Even if a reservation has been made, Konak Rent a Car reserves the right not to deliver the vehicle in certain situations. For more details, please contact our call center.

Although it is not a frequent occurrence, the make and model of the reserved vehicle may be substituted with an equivalent vehicle if necessary.

Despite all precautions taken to ensure a smooth journey, in the event of an emergency or issue, please call the contact numbers that will be provided to you.

After your reservation is finalized, you will be contacted by our reservation department via phone call or message. You can pay via mail order using your credit card or directly at the time of vehicle pickup. Depending on the vehicle group, a minimum pre-authorization amount of 4000 TL may be held on your card. Even in confirmed reservations, Konak Rent a Car reserves the right to cancel the delivery of the vehicle and refund the payment if deemed necessary.

If you wish your rental payment to be made by your company through a corporate invoicing/account agreement, please complete the Corporate Account Agreement and send it to us. Our accounting department will then contact the relevant personnel from your company.

Reservations made through our website are valid only if you have read and accepted the “Rental Requirements,” “Pricing Terms,” and “Terms of Use.”
